so as my first post on this board, let me start by saying I love this amp!!! i spent nearly as much money on some crappy crate blue voodoo half stack when i was younger and this blows it out of the water!

Now I brought it over to my friends house the other night to jam and left it there a couple days, they played on it a little and told me there was a funky sound they heard, i dont have a description really of the sound, but when i plugged in his guitar briefly i didnt notice anything. Bringing it back home i notice channel 3 sounds almost weaker in a way, hard to describe, slightly fizzy, and the far left tube is not glowing nearly as bright as the other tubes.

Some info regarding the amp:
purchased new back in july
only actually played in one gig
usually play on the 10 watt settings
on channel 3 i typically have a fairly high gain/treble settings for solo play(change it up for jamming with people)
it's the 1x12 combo version

any ideas? tube short perhaps? let me know, thanks!

Yep, it's probably a preamp tube. Is only channel 3 affected? Do your loop and reverb work properly? (You might be able to figure out which tube it this way. Look on p. 62 of the manual.)

it's the 5u4g one, maybe this isnt supposed to glow, and there is also a chance the distortion sounds crappier is because i went from playing on my buddie 59 goldtop reissue to my current POS guitar until my new one arrives, again, any advice would be appreciated

My 5U4G doesn't light up like the others either, not sure why really, but my ch3 is fine.
Aside from a pre-amp tube, maybe your buddy changed some settings and it's
not quite how you had it before?

actually this is what it looks like, i think the noise he was talking about was a bad cord, ill probably get it looked at just in case, since it is within the 6 months of tube guarantee
