I got my 2x12 wired last night. I've read countless articles on how to wire 2 speakers in parallel. I've double-triple-quadruple checked to make sure I have it wired correctly. I wired + post on jack to + on each speaker and - on jack to - on both speakers.

It just plain doesn't sound right. It's terrible terribly, no low end at all, and sounds like more sound is coming out the back than the front, giving it a spread-out, stereo like sound (but not in a good way). From what I've read, the symptoms sound like it's out of phase. Is it possible that the speakers are out of phase, and if so, what do I do to correct it?? Or could it be something else? PLEASE HELP

If the speakers are out of phase reverse the wires between the speakers and see what that does. Out of phase will have a cancelling effect on each other so that might be your problem.

yeah, just reversing the wires should do it. if you hook up a speaker backwards it wont really hurt the speaker or amp, the impedance is still the same.

basically if the speaker is wired right and you put signal into it then the cone with extend forward and then drop back, if its wired backwards it just does the same thing in reverse.

Thanks! I got it! The place that sold me the jack was misinformed about which post is + and which was -. I reversed those and all is well. 8)
