Hi folks, I just found this forum and I'm surprised I haven't been here before.

I got a few gigs playing bass, but I'm without a bass amp.

I was wondering how much damage I'll do to my mark IV if I use it for a few low volume gigs.

I was thinking of using the internal speaker in one of the 4ohm outputs and a 1x15 8ohm cab out of the other 4ohm out.
As I mentioned, the volume will be fairly low. I doubt I'll turn the master over 3.
I think the amp can handle it, so my main concern is the internal speaker.

Do you think this setup will hold up to 1-2 nights a week over a couple months without screwing things up?
Should I use full power?
Any suggestions or other considerations would be appreciated.

Thanks

It'll amplify whatever - it's the speaker you need to be concerned about. I'd do it with mine. It won't sound great, but it shouldn't do any damage. If you think some people use octavers and synth pedals just fine, it's really not different.

I used my F-30 for a month of low volume jazz gigs with my bass and nothing happened. I still hate jazz.

Thanks for the replys.
I am using it for Bass and it actually sounds OK for what I'm playing. Using the 4ohm out on the internal speaker gives the bass a slightly tighter sound than the 8ohm. The internal EV is overpowering the 1x15 cab, but I got it set to give a fair amount of punch. The bottom end is pretty mushy, but the amp shows no signs of slowing down. Could use a good compressor. I've never used many effects with this amp other than delay and an envelope filter.

I still love jazz.
