Just curious about what pedals
others are using with their Lonestar Classic..?

Overdrives/distortions especially...

However, would also find it very interesting & fun
to hear about any or all of the pedals
one might be using through the Lonestar Classic..

(both in front of the amp & through the loop...)

Enjoy :D

After about two months of owning a LSC, I have not
found the need for any pedals. Maybe later, I will try my Clyde
or choralflange. No need for distortion or overdrive,
as the amp has plenty of muscle already. With the
drive, thick, and thicker switches, I think they have
that covered pretty well.

The LSC take pedals as nicely as the old Fender Twins!

I've used plenty without problems but no OD's or Dists.

Some cool things that it reacted to especially nicely:
Phase 45 (orig mxr script) in the front
Peavey Valverb in the loop

Does this mean that the Road King II clean channel can take pedals well?

Hi there
I haven't used any distortion or OD pedals with mine, as the amp doesn't really need any help and I tend to run it as my "clean" channel. If I did, I would probably use my Fulltone Mosfet Fulldrive 2...

I also use a hint of ChoralFlange as well as a Tube Tape Echo with mine for FX and it sounds great. The amp's reverb is also very tasty.

I'm currently using a Maxon OD9 (Analogman Silver Mod) and a Boss BD2 (Keeley Mod) wth my Lone Star. Those are my two favorite pedals with the Lone Star because they are so warm sounding. I also have a Fulltone FD2, Tonebone Classic, and a B.K. Butler Tube Driver. The Lone Star takes overdrive and distortion pedals really nicely and all of the pedals that I listed above sound great through it.

For delay, I'm running a T-Rex Replica. The T-Rex is really warm sounding for a digital delay.

Finally found the perfect clean-slight
amount of grit boost to go with My Mesa Lonestar Classic...

Read that Jimmy Herring (one of my favs...)
uses a Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor
to boost his cleans over the band...
with only just a slight amount of grit...
(really goes good with Teles & Strats...)

So have the Lonestar's
wonderful 2nd channel distortion,
with the constantly used channel 1's beautiful, pristine cleans..
but now with an inbetween clean (slight breakup)
all tube tone at foot..

So here's my pedal set-up all together:

In front of the amp:
Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah (on internal Vox setting)
Maxon CL101 Optic Compressor
Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor

In loop:
PH7-Phaser
DD3-Digital Delay
T.C. Electronics Chorus
Planet Waves tuner (also working as a buffer)
