I'm thinking of adding a LSC in the near future. I already running a LSS a/b'd with a 50 watt Fender, but I think the LSC will do a better job in a smaller, lighter package, w/more options. The only thing I would be lacking is the trem, which I picked up a pedal for in the LSS ( which I love ).
My question is 1 or 2 speakers ? I can't help but thinking that 1 is enough but the amp cabs are the same size. I could see stacking the LSS on top of the LSC . The Fender is bulky ( 4x10's) and I think the LSC would be a better set up. I'm not sure about a head & cab set up ...it would run into more money. but I do have a 1x12 cab I could stick a mesa speaker in until I could afford a nice cab.... I guess for that matter I could run the Fender speakers w/a mesa head.
Any advice is fodder for thought and greatly appreciated...I lean toward combos ( probably an age thing ) but am intigued by the options of a cab.
Is the sound quality of 2 speakers that much different, espeically when miked ( which we do a lot ) or will 1 do it. The LSS ( 1x12 ) sounds great with 1....thanks...CGM

I think most on this forum would disagree, but I have a Roadster 1 x 12 and a 2 x 12 cabinet, and if I were blindfolded I don't think I could tell the difference in the sound. Maybe it's because the cab is so well made, and it's plenty loud. If you're mic'ing I can't imagine any difference. Being of a more mature stature (i.e. 46 years old), I like the head / 1 x 12 cab scenario because it's easier to lug around.

I find more is better. Unfortunately, more is heavier. I have an LSC 2x12 that weighs in at 75lbs if I'm not mistaken. It feels like more. I stack it on a 2x12 ext cab and the tone is 'to die for'. But if I can get away with it, I use two 1x12's cabs with a 40w head for light gigging. I'm thinking about converting my combo to a head and picking up another 2x12 ext.

If you ever play in bigger venues or outdoors thats where you will notice a problem with one speaker . Why not a head and a 2X12 box ? Combos are convenient but i much prefer head and cab over a combo . I used to use combos but I feel the head and cab lets me dial my sound in a good bit better
