Need some opinions. I own a Heartbreaker Combo (that I run with a 3/4 back 1X12 cab) but would like more Twin Reverb-like cleans and more gain on channel 2 (but not necessarily Recto gain). I've spoken with Trace at Voodoo Amps (a helluva nice guy) about doing their mod on the HB, which has gotten good reviews. I plan to test drive a Roadster (head and combo) this weekend as well as a 5:50. My preference would be a three channel setup ("Fender clean, light OD, & Mesa WW3"), which is what is attracting me to the Roadster, but having a two channel set-up and using a pedal for the light OD is not out of the question.
FWIW, I have a Recto Solo 50 head, but I do not like the cleans at all, no matter how a tweak it. It most likely will be sold or traded in.
In essence, I need an amp that can cover multiple musical genres and cover multiple tones.
