Anybody listening to this new album?
I got it four days ago and have listened to it three times so far. Hmmm...it's a bit of a departure, but one I think I saw coming with Ghost Reveries and Watershed.
There's a lot to wrap your head around so I'm withholding judgement until it sinks in with a few more reps.
What do you think?

I'm really impressed with it. I got into the band with Still Life (still my favorite from them). They kinda lost me with Damnation/Deliverance... I loved the idea of a separate clean/heavy album but for me, it sounded better on paper than on the actual delivery. Ghost Reveries really connected but then Watershed did nothing for me. I just felt they had painted themselves into a corner. I finally knew what to expect from an Opeth album and it all started to sound too similar. There weren't too many surprises left. So I went into this with very low expectations and it might be that it's quite different or that I've really gotten into more "rock" sounding bands in the last few months but I'm really digging' it. I think it's the song Folklore that has truly blown my mind. And I'm finding that I don't miss the heavy vocals at all with this one. I thought I would because the light/dark dynamic that was always a signature of Opeth was always one of the main draws to the band. Overall, I'm very impressed and can't wait to see where they go from here.
