The new cab makes all the difference in the world. Me happy. :)

its funny to me how we all have such similar settings on channel #3 even my eq looks very similar to that?

Maybe its just because i used to own a VHT , but i wish the GEQ had more range....

unclemuscles, have you tried the channel 1 tweed setting as suggested at the very bottom of page 31? - last two lines.

I have an american std strat and I just love it - although I'm still waiting form my timmy, I think dropping an od in front of it would just be fantastic!

CHeck it out, especially with your hotrail.

I can't find any info on it on the Boogie website!
I just called Mesa Hollywood and asked if there were any matching cabs for the Mark V combo and they said the new cabs had just arrived. So I ran down and bought one.

Ab - So - Lutely!! But both of my Les Paul's sound killer on these settings as well.

Since we are pretty much stuck on one setting for each channel I defer to Channel 1's FAT mode - bold ON - 90 Watts and use either a Barber LTD SR or the Barber Tone Pump EQ to get the best of both worlds. Or what people refer to as the Andy Timmons BB settings.

The new widebody front ported cab has not made it to the website yet, but it's on the Feb '09 price list, which can be viewed in the Modern Era Amps forum.

It is $469.

That cab came in when my head arrived at the store. I happened to see it and bought it. But once I got it home and A/B'd it to my other cabs, it just didn't compare to a Recto 2x12 at the smallest and still get the oomph. At least for harder rock tones, to me, the new widebody 1x12 doesn't do it.

All I can say is that with the combo amp - I think that this cabinet completes the sound I was looking for. I am totally satisfied. It is really a whole different dimension and depth to the sound. All the missing eq and bottom end fullness is now there and it really blends nicely. Maybe not the balls out colon shaking thunk of a rectal... I mean recto cabinet, but it kicks freaking *** none the less.
