Ohms questions: Mark IIC+ content

Hello everyone. I have been lurking around for quite some time and finally registered to this great board.
I wanted to ask the experts here about ohms. Is it safe to use my 8 ohm IIC+ head into a 16 ohm Orange Cab? Some people say this is worse due to the flyback voltages but I just wanted to make sure that it was safe with you guys. Thanks.

It is safe, yes. It won't sound the same though, it will probably sound a bit darker. As long as you don't UNDER-load the amp (IE: 4ohm cab into an amp expecting 8ohms, etc), it will always be safe, it just won't sound the way you might expect.
