Saw your other post, Darth, but I fail to understand the problem with Telefunken made in Germany - that was the only place genuine Telefunkens were made. Siemens, Valvo, and RFT also come from Germany (RFT from East Germany), so you can't really too bad with a genuine German tube. I think I'm missing something here.

It says made in germany across the front of the tube. ...Perfectly. As far as I know vintage Tele's were made in west germany.Well before the wall came down right???That was what made me laugh when the guy told me they were "early telefunkens". well an early telefunken wouldn't say made in germany across the front of the tube now would it??? It's so obvious it is fake it is hysterical!! and it not what was presented in the pics. If I got lucky and it was a siemens or some other great tube then okay. But considering someone went out of their way gip me out of 85 bucks for two tubes I could have bought at GC I highly doubt it............

As MavGuy said, you may have a Siemens tube there. If it is a long-plate (17mm), then you've got quite a find. I actually prefer the (long plate) Siemens to Telefunken, personally. But I understand you outrage in not getting what was represented.

Check for the Siemens code on the side of the glass. It will look like an equals sign, with a slash through it. Here's a great resource for Philips-made tube i.d.: http://www.tube-classics.de/TC/Tubes/Valvo/Phlipscode.htm.

Nah...short plate,no production code on the side of the glass on either tube.I'm sending them back anyway. I wish it was a long plate siemens....oh well!! Thanks for that link though.

Is there a diamond shape, stamped impression on the bottom of the tube; inside the circle of pins?
This is a known mark of the Teles. I have several 'west' german made Tele's that have that diamond...if so, they are the real deal..... 8)

Also how do they sound?
Got any pics to post?

Don't blame you for being po'd if it ends up that someone ripped you off.

Take care :D
