But whenever I turn off the FX loop switch on the footswitch, the effects in the loop can still be heard? I would have thought turning of the FX loop via the footswitch would mean the signal bypasses the loop... :?

I do have the FX loop switch flicked to the ON position, doubt that helps explain the problem but...

Depending on which amp you have, there is a fx loop engage switch on the back panel for each individual channel, this will override the fx loop button on the footswitch. If you have the switches for each channel all set to fx loop on, they will all stay on regardless of if you have the fx loop footswitched in.

Yeah, I had the individual FX loop switch at the back turned on. So basically, if I turned it off for a channel, I can use the footswitch to engage and disengage the loop for that channel itself???

Yup, that's it man, took me a few extra stomps to figure that one out!

What the duck? Generally I find that amps require that particular function to be activated on the amp for the user to be able to footswitch that function. Cheers none the less. I thought mine might have been broken...
