Hi,

I'm new here, but on a few other forums.

My new Mark V head is set up, and I'm now dialing it in :D

Mesa CS was great, it shipped last week with a bad 5U4GB rectifier tube (I named him Mr Bacon Tube).

So with a new tube installed, I'm really diggin' this amp..., but have never heard this sound of "relays" firing up & down before..., whenever I power on / off the amp.

Cause for concern? Or normal on this monster?

It's normal to hear the relays clicking on powerup and shutdown. Relays are activated by a small amount of current, and powering down shuts off this current, which causes the relays to revert to their "unpowered" position. Turning the amp back on reapplies power to them, and some will be triggered based on the status of the footswitch settings, etc, so you will again hear them clicking.

welcome to the board!

my mkv had a bunk rectifier tube too, it made mabye an hour before it died

Thanks..., I'll sleep easy now.

If anyone has some saturated hi gain settings (at low volumes) that they want to share..., I'll have to keep it down tonight for my girls are sleeping over.

Feel free to post 'em here 8)
