Noisy OD, clean OK, help!

Hello, Newbie here, I've had my single rect since jan, and recently noticed alot of noise on the OD channel while the clean side remains nice and quiet. I read the FAQ section on Mesa's site, but I thought I'd ask here, does this means tube replacement? Thanks in advance,

Depends on how high you run your gain, and how old your preamp tubes are. If your gain is maxed out, try rolling it back a bit to see if that helps, if that works try some different pre amp tubes in V1/V2. You should get a little bit of hiss on the dirt channel ( Just the nature of high gain amps) but nothing so crazy that your amp gets a viking funeral. Cheers.
