Hello everyone. Yes, first post, newbie to the board. I've Googled as much as I could before deciding to finally hit y'all up. Here goes....
Recently acquired a Triple Rectifier (not sure the age) knowing it wasn't 100%, hoping maybe it would be something super simple. Not so much. The only way it gets any kind of volume on any channel is with both the gain and treble is maxed out. It's exactly the same through the preamp out to another power amp. But this is only with the effects loop bypassed, and it hums until the treble and gain are turned up. Loop engaged, no matter what channel or setting, it's nothing but just light noise. A pedal into the loop return does nothing no matter where anything is set. Doesn't matter what power section settings are either. I'm sure there's more to it than just that, but I think I can rule out the power section as being the culprit. Maybe. And yes, all tubes have been swapped and shell game shuffled more than once.
Sound like anything anyone has come across?
