Hi Everyone - I picked up a used Single Rectifier Rect-O-Verb 50 1x12 combo last week and I'm hoping some of you can tell me a little bit about it.

Before my questions - the amp is a freakin' monster! Bought it a few hours before a gig and had little time to tweak around but it sounded awesome. The other guys in the band were loving it and so was I. I have an outdoor gig tonight so I'm looking forward to cranking it up some. (11 perhaps?)

This is my first Mesa and what I'm trying to find out is when the ROV 50 was produced. I know there was a series one and series 2 and this is a series one I believe, as no bias switch. It has a Fillmore speaker so I'm assuming it's a replacement. Other than that I can't find any info on this amp.

The guy at the music store said it could be from the early 90's. It's clean as a whistle but the back panel is missing.

If someone can tell me when these were made that would be great. Also wondering how I can get ahold of a back panel.

Thanks!

Early 90s? That sounds a bit early to me...I don't think there even were Single Recs in production in the early 1990s.

The first Solo heads were Duals, Triples followed a little later, and Singles (including ROVs) several years later...maybe in 1998 or so. Someone with a better memory please confirm (or shoot down) this.

Hey everyone - I finally called Mesa and got the scoop. Serial # R50-0067. An early one. Made in 1998.
