So I'm looking at trying to find a tremoverb head and i'd like to get a V.2 as opposed to one of the older V.1 as I've heard of reliability issues with the older ones. I was wondering what year mesa made the changes and started selling the V.2. What things can i look for to tell if its one of the the later production models?

Thanks a lot,
Dave

Hey Dave,

The dead ringer for identifying this is the power cord.

If it is removable, it is the newer version. If it is a fixed cord, it is the initial version. I think there other nuances that differentiate, but that one detail is the dead give away.

The change over happened around 1995 I believe. I have a 2001 model from the last production run and my serial number is 17xxx.

14xxx is around 1999. 11xxx to 12xxx is in the 1998-99 pocket and I think 1996-1998 is around 9xxx-11xxx.

There was a time when I knew this data cold but it has been a while so I might be slightly off on the SN dates but if I am, it is close.

Hope this helps.
