New to the board....

I have a Mesa Dual Rectifier Tremoverb on order....I get to pick her up Friday September 6th, 2013....all ready have a Mesa 1x12 wide body cab....but purchased a Rectifier 4x12 cab with v30's as well.

Sold a couple guitars and a Fender Deluxe Reverb to help make the purchase....the head cost me 850 and the cab 550....the head comes with a 4 button after market foot switch as well.

Played Fender amps up until about 8 years ago when I bought my first Marshall....a JCM900 M4500 w/ 4x12 1960B Lead cab and a Marshall TSLC2x12....ended up playing on the Marshall the majority of the time....

Lately I've had a couple of friends who like to stop by and jam on occasion....and when they have I must admit I just wasn't satisfied with one of us playing on the Fender....so it was time to make a change....

.... it's going to be nice having two quality set-ups....one Mesa and one Marshall....I do realize the Mesa is going to blow the Marshall out of the water but we'll try to even them out so to speak.

By the way....I don't play in a band....haven't for 30 years....I'm just an old man who likes to jam with friends at home. My musical tastes are mainly 70s and 80's rock but lately have gone to the dark side listening to Finnish metal bands....Nightwish is my favorite.

They were asking 950, for the head and 650 for the cab....I offered 1400....they agreed.

I've seen them going for 900-1200 so yeah 850 is a great deal....a few minor tears in the leather surrounding the head and cab....front cloth has a small indentation....tubes look fairly new.

Three more days until face melting can begin! Congrats on your purchase, I recently picked up a TOV combo back in jan. of '13 ...I love it, it's even better now that Im playing it through speakers that aren't completely fubar'd....u are gonna have one serious set up for just being the guy that occasionally jams with his buds...fo' real!

In 20 minutes I'll be off work and off to pick up my Mesa Tremoverb....all day long I've had a stomach ache in anticipation of getting off work.

So....which guitar should I try with it first?

....Gibson Les Paul Custom, PRS Custom 24, Carvin Ultra VC, ESP LTD MH-1000...(just put a Seymour Duncan Black Winter in the bridge position)....probably go with the LTD....the PRS 2nd.

....also a buddy of mine is coming by my house in a few hours to help me put it to the test....he has a Mesa Single Rectifier....I also can't wait to compare it to my Marshall JCM900....I realize the Mesa's 100 watts will be more powerful then the 50 watt Marshall....but will it truly be the face melting amp as described by Leroy Crow and others.

Can't wait to find out. 8)
