hey guys......just finished up a new tune, "City Of Kings". I'm a massive Lord Of The Rings fan and finally got around to doing a tune about it. my buddy skizzy helped write a few of the lyrics and did the gtr solo in the middle of the tune. all else was written and performed by me. I hope you can check it out and let me know what you think.....the link for the song also includes the lyrics, for those who are interested in the subject matter......and yeh yeh, I know, it's goofy as hell to write about wizards, hobbits and the one ring.....but i personally find that more interesting these days most other subject matter.....so just bare with me!! LOL

All guitars done on a Mark V, channel 1 "tweed".....for the solos a BB Preamp and a gigity pedal was turned on as well.

nice tones there masque!
i dig the intro.....
and i don't mind the lyric, it's not goofy, hell, zep did it.... why not?!

that tweed channel sounds good.
the rhythms have a nice jangly grind to it.

on the vocals, watch those pitches that are going high, especially with the solo guitar following....
they are a bit off, if you just mix the guitar a bit hotter, or the lead vox more down with it, they will blend more.

those long vocal melodies that hold out, you really gotta focus on keeping those smooth, they drift a bit.

but it's a really good arrangment, and most of the lead vox is very smooth and blends well with that guitar sound.
