new roadster head just lost all sound when i was playing in the clean channel #2 .it was fine ,i was jammin at med volume ,hit the solo button on foot switch ,which all the volumes were set proper and it just cut off .put it on standby ,checked all connections ,all good ,fuse, tubes ,look normal. put it back on and could hear very low guitar sound ,very faintly ,no other noise..messed with volume nob ,nothing!! help!!!! ok!! here's what i just did, shut off for 15 min, turned back on ,fliped off the effect loop in back and it worked ,whats going on!! a bad effect loop???? bought brand new at gc, im pissed!!! got a show soon!!!! that means i cant use the solo button or main volume right? i had this mofo rockin ,all the volumes set great, solo button was great too ,everything was perfect!!! wtf!!!!!

Yeah, quite a few threads have been opened about dirty effects loop. get a contact cleaner, spray in the loop one at a time, use a patch cable, insert/remove rapidly for mutiple times. If that doesnt help, try swapping/re-seating preamp tubes.

There is no such thing as "brand new" in GC if it was on the floor. All sort of kids turn on tube-amps without them being plugged into a cab. Good luck!

well,i am bringing it back tomorrow, they are gonna order a new one and let me be the one to take it out of the box. i suspect they gave me one off the floor . if its gonna break i want to break it !!! its a bad sign to have bad things happen already ,thank god it wasn't a show..... the good thing is i set it all and had it rocking in the 2 hours i had with it!!!!

Those scums at GC will try to give you the floor model first! I once demoed an amp and immediately, without even asking me, the sales guy picked up the amp on the floor. I insisted he give me one in a box or give me a discount. He gave me the one in the box and a small discount. You have to be very careful. Make sure you take it out of the box, plug it into a cab and make sure it sounds good at LOUD levels before walking out of the store. Good luck!

yea,i went off on the manager last night ,i took a good look in my amp and there was a ton of dust . for a amp they said was just taken out of the box( liar!!!!!!!!) well i got to be more careful ..... i cant wait to get the new one and rip open the box myself!! thanks for the response and help!!!! now its a waiting game im sure..... they are probally gonna make me wait forever for it...
