Yesterday I picked up my new Roadster 2x12 combo after a wait of about 6 weeks. OMFG, this thing is a monster! The tonal variations it can generate seem limitless and the channels maintain their character even at low "bedroom" levels. Seriously, and I know this sounds like a cliche, but I have wasted a lot of time and money with other rigs in the past. I should have bought a Mesa years ago.
I do have a couple of questions for the collective wisdom here. What sort of cable should I use for the fx loops? Shielded cable like microphone cable or unshielded? Also, I noticed that the gain control on the fx loop affects the amp's tone, even when nothing is connected. There was a bit of a hum when the gain was turned up so I reduced it to eliminate the hum and that took some of the aggressiveness out of the tone. Has anyone else noticed this?
I figure it will take a while to find the tones I like best but I anticipate enjoying every minute of it.
