I've been reading this forum for awhile and just got a used but like new RKII and 4x12 Recto cab. I've wanted this amp since the RKI first came out! Anyway, this is my first tube amp.... and a major transition from my Vetta II. I can't believe how much of an effect my playing style and the volume and tone knobs have on the sound... super cool. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself!

Hey brother!

Hope you are having a great time with your RKII. I am half way there too man! Mine is still on order and hope to join you soon!

Enjoy!!

Just got a call from GC today that my Garnet RKII head is ready, but the cab is not due till mid July. Having them ship just the head for now so I can plug in to my POS cab for now. That's what I get for custom ordering.
Have fun with the new amp.

i used to have a RK1. you'll sell it after you realize you don't use 50% of the knobs, etc. and that it weighs 57 lbs...

enjoy it while it lasts (i thought the triode switch was cool, now it's gone)
Still feeling disenfranchised with Mesa/Boogie?

I wish my first tube amp was a roadking ... whatever series ... it wouldn't have mattered. I would have loved it but tore it up all the same. I was young when I got my first tube amp, and I've never looked back at SS.

Rabies, you're waiting for the 5 aren't you!!!

The new flagship is on the horizon!!! Come to the dark side. We have cookies.

Welcome man! You'll find that the RKII can do SO much! FWIW, I subbed yellowjackets W/EL84's for the EL34's, for a tone that suits me much better.

All's I gotta say is play it loudly and proudly my friend. If your pants aren't flapping in the wind then something is wrong.

Daaaaaaaaaam!!
From a Vetta to a RoadKing?
Now that's the way to make a change from a modeling amp to a real amp!!
Congrats!

I'm starting to really dial in some sweet sounds with the RKII. Moving up from the Vetta II is definitely a huge upgrade; the Vetta II was a compromise because I couldn't afford the RK and I probably should've just waited. I'm selling the Vetta if anyone is interested (yeah, that's probably a stupid question for a Mesa Boogie forum!). I agree there are a lot of knobs on this thing. In fact, I was going to get a Roadster but got such a good deal on this rig that I couldn't pass it up. Plus, I play mostly covers (which the Vetta is really good for) and it's nice to have 6l6's and EL34's.
