Hey all,
I just picked up a 2004'ish Rectoverb and I love it. I cant get enough of the Modern channels gain/attack.

The previous owner had a talkbox mod put in, should I take it out and how hard/complicated would it be to remove it?

I will most likely do the parrallel to series FX loop mod while im in there.

ANd I just ordered my Ho Attenuator and cant wait to get it in place so I can start opening my recto up without loosing my hearing and having my neighboor beating at my door.

I dont think this guy every replaced any tubes, does anyone have any suggestions? JJs, TADs, EHs??? I just want to keep that classic Recto tone.

Hell yeah dude! Welcome to the board! Good to see a fellow musician get the gear he always wanted!

Congratulations on the boogie my man! I love my recto-verb. I don't know about the mods, but if I were you, I would take out the talk box mod. If you want the classic recto tone, I think the best way to get there is just to use mesa tubes. I have tried a bunch of different stuff in mine, but I keep coming back to stock mesa tubes.

The modern mode is really cool, but I have been loving the vintage mode lately when my mesa is cranked. I would love to know what you think of the Ho attenuator. I have been thinking about getting one. Just watch out with these attenuators. They are only good to reduce your volume by 10-15%.

Have fun!

I've not been able to find Mesa tubes here in Canada, so I ordered TADs 6L6. Where do you get yours from?

Both my Tubes and Attenuator came in today so hopefully I'll get a chance to try them out and post some info on them. I just need to get a speaker cable...

Any Mesa dealer should have a stock of Mesa tubes. You probably won't find them listed online however, as Mesa used to have a policy against online sales of their products.

I usually buy Mesa tubes locally, or I buy non-Mesa tubes from www.thetubestore.com out of Hamilton, Ontario.

I get my mesa tubes from long and mcquade here in vancouver. I'm canadian too eh. Where are you located? Long and mcquade is like the 7-11 of music stores. They are everywhere. You might be able to order from them online or over the phone.

Thats where I bought my Tubes. On their website they actually recommended TADs for the recto series. I just tossed in a pair of 6L6s and they sounds really good. Mind ya, I dont know what shape the original Mesas were in.

If im getting breakup on Modern channel with Master Volume around 9:00 should I change my pre amp tubes? I just think that a little early but Im a complete noob to all this.
