Hi All,

Not sure if my problem was resolved in another post if it was please direct me to it that would be great :D

Here is my issue:

I purchase a brand new Mark V about 2 months ago and I love it put I am hearing a somewhat electric humming noise from channel#2 and #3. Channel#1 sounds OK. My gear list:

2011 Gibson Les Paul Standard
2012 EBMM Axis SP
Zoom G3 Effects pedal
Digitech HT-6 PolyChromatic Tuner
TC Electronic Harmony
2 Yorkville Sound - DLX Series Balanced TRS - 10 foot 1/4" cables

If I disconnect my guitar from the amp and turn the amp on and switch to channel#2 and #3 I don't hear the electric interferance sound so I am pretty sure my issue is outside the amp but I am not sure. I am currently using the effects loop on the amp, right now I have the Zoom G3 plug into it. I was thinking of placing the Zoom G3 pedal in between the guitar and amp and see if the sound is still there. I will post my results shortly.

What I might do as well is post a youtube video of my issue so you guys can hear the sound coming from the amp, I am sure that will help. :)

If anybody has any tips for me to help me troubleshoot my issue please let me know.
Thanks again from a newbie

Luc

Chances are that it's not coming from the amp. Disconnect all of the effects and plug your guitar straight into the amp. If the noise is gone, then you'll know for certain that it's coming from outside the amp.

Thanks for the tip. I decided to use the original power adapters for all 3 devices outside the amp and the humming/buzzing is gone. I was hoping to just use 1 AC power adapter to power all 3 devices but I guess that is not the case. :(

Yeah, daisy-chaining digital devices is a recipe for noise. Isolated power supplies (such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Powers) are worth every penny if you want a clean and quiet chain.

I guess I will have to spend the money to get a good Voodoo Lab PSU. :?
