I just picked up a used Mark IV combo, serial number 16 today for $750. Unbelievable deal on it. Bought it from a local guy on CL. So far needs a bit of TLC but is definitely playable and useable. For being one of the first few off the line, it's in pretty good shape. I did notice that there were a few differences on the layout from my old Mark IV head as far as switching. The EQ is only on or R2. I believe my old head was either auto for lead or on. And the switches are mini toggles on the back. When I have a chance I have to post pics of it.

It was a hell of a steal on it. It was like fate meant me to have it. The guy lived in a city about 300 miles away from me so I was planning on going up there to fetch at some point or another. As it turns out though he was going to be passing through my hometown last night and dropped it off for me to try out. i was going to meet him back in the city he was going to work in as I was going there to work next week too. Instead after trying it out and getting a second opinion on it today, I worked out the financials with him and made it mine. I spent the better part of the afternoon pulling it apart, cleaning the guts, cleaning pots, cleaning knobs, scrubbing the tolex, re-tubing it and finally dialing it in. When I got it, he had EL34's in all the sockets and my heart skipped a few beats. I did a prety good going over on it and had my local amp tech look at it as well and saw no reason not to take it. When I pulled it apart I saw it had MB initialed on it and the build date of 5/4/1990, which is one of my sons birthdates as well, only 15 years later. Cosmetically, it's in pretty decent shape after getting all the dirt and dust off it. Soudns great too with the Black Shadow in it. I was running my MIV head with a Marshall 4x12 with G12-t75s and it just never turned my crank all that much. This one sounds was better.
