New in the box?

Can any of you MKV owners out there tell me what is supposed to come in the box for a new amp and 2x12 vert speaker cabinet purchase, and if you would be able to tell if it's a new amplifier or if it has been abused and kicked around the floor of a retail store for a while?

in addition to amp you should have . manual, warranty card, QC card tied to top handle, slip cover , footswitch & cable and there should be a plastic info piece on top of the amp explaining all the controls on the front and back of amp .
2X12 cab should have a slip cover as well . If you didnt get these you should demand it from the dealer or call Mesa . You paid for all of it !

I would check for wear on the box, like has it been re-taped. There should be a folder that all documents come in for the amp. Plastic slips on all of the power tubes.

I dont think they are putting the green plastic screens on the power tubes anymore since they started putting cages around them.

no, you couldn't tell if its "new" or been on the floor for a while, if it's taken care of at the store. That is a cab just shipped to the store will look like one thats been sitting there for 6 months, except for maybe some dust. unless something drops on it and you see visable damage it should be fine. you can always ask for a boxed one, or order one.

but i just got my 2x12 shipped to GC by UPS... and UPS f'd up. soemthing fell on the box, and now there is a tear in the grill cloth and dent in the side of the cab... now i have to get a new one from boogie.. how ever long that takes (but i get to use the one i have now in the mean time)

mine came with everything except the plastic on top explaining the controls, dont know why cause it was sended directly from mesa, but no prob with that, everything was there.
