New England Cold Weather

Anybody leave their amp(s) in the cold? Thinking about buying an ATA/road case which about doubles (120lbs) the V's weight. Not feeling my stairs after gigs but the cloth cover ain't standing up to the road. Never had a problem with my racks & stacks in the cold. Just wondering if anyone else what everyone else thinks.

What kind of cold are we talking? I live in New England and the winters are definitely brutal. I leave my amps in one of the colder parts of my house and never have issues. I usually don't play the thing in the cold room I referenced, since I wouldn't be able to handle the cold myself.

Just protect yourself and be sure to use 'standby' to slowly heat your tubes up before letting your amp rip. You may also want to warm your speakers up too.

The more I think about it, I think it's a matter of bringing the unit (especially the tubes) slowly up to temperature. In the car on the way to the gig. Thanks...

The problem is condensation. When you bring a really cold ( under 32 or so) piece of electronic equipment in from the cold, the moisture in the room condenses on the internal parts. Think water. Thats why some of these amps look like they have been through WWII all rusted and such. I never leave anything in the car after the fall is over. My equipment still looks like new.

My amps are in road cases and stay on a equipment truck year round . Never had a problem

Ordered my case... Going to leave it in the band wagon too... along with my Cube 60 as back up:-/
