Bonus finally came in. Time to buy some things I want, not responsible adult purchases.

Added to the amp family.

Rivera Knucklehead Tre - Pretty new offering from Rivera. Sounds like a cross between the Lucky 13 and a Triple Rec. You have to hear one in a good 4x12 to get the effect of the foundation control for adding a thick bottom end.

SLO 100 - Don't need to really say anything more about that. Finally found a good deal on one. Only played until 2 a.m. last night.....

Both amps are worthy to share stage with a Boogie.

The only amp left on the tone quest is a good quality IIC+. The MKV in IIC+ mode is pretty good but definitely not the real deal, no matter what the MKV propaganda literature says. It may be in the old components and the quality assurance levels back then. Better tubes?

I see that modeling amps are not among your list. :lol:

What about Dumble clone? Fuch, BrownNote, Two Rock and a few others boutique builders.

These amp sustains like mad, you don't even have dial in that much gain. Check YouTube for clips.

By the way, nice list of amps (other thread) you plan to audition.

If a modeler was on fire, I would not piss on it to put it out.....

Nothing against anyone that has one, they just don't feel or sound right to me when up loud. It may just be psychological, but I don't like 'em.....

I heard an old man discussing this modeling amp thing with a younger guy at a music store, maybe his son or grandson. The kid said about the modeler they were looking at, "You can't hear the difference". The old man said, "No, YOU can't hear the difference". Pretty much laughed my *** off. That sums it up for me.

Congrats on the new family members. The SLO 100 has been on my list for a long time now, but it will have to wait for a few more years. I just picked up a Bogner XTC today and I couldn't be happier...unless I had a SLO too!

congrats man! def 2 kick azz amps i`ve been eyeballin as well. i`ll prolly have to settle for an avenger because maines economy sucks *** when not in recession :roll: gotta love the liftime transferrable warranty on that SLO!
