New Amp Day

After weeks of selling, trading, and saving(and a little birthday help), I finally got my Mark V head today. I'm pretty new to posting on this forum, but have been reading a lot of the forum for information. I had a Mark IV head, which I liked, but it was really temperamental. I played on the Mark V about two months ago, and knew I had to buy this amp. So far, I love it. My Mark IV was great, but this amp is amazing. I only was able to play(and fidget) on it for an hour today, but I was able to find some great tones already. I didn't even hook up any of my pedals or my rocktron hush rack unit, and the tone was great. I can't wait to spend more time with it this weekend and hopefully doing some recording on it Sunday.

I know you have seen hundreds of pictures of these, but I never get tired of looking at them, so here's a few more.

Congrats, man! These are killer amps. I'm in love with mine still. I've found I only need delay and a wah to be happy with this amp (don't even need the wah really, but it's fun). I had to sell a DC-3 head, Rect-o-Verb combo, BOSS GT-8, and a few pedals to afford mine, but it was totally worth it. Best sounding amp I've ever heard/owned.

Nice to have you here golf4ever27! I think you'll find folks here very cool and helpful. Come june, I will have had mine a year (already, damn!), and I'm still topping tones that I had thought the day before was as good as it could get.

I've learned alot about my amp, and gotten from some very good advice here on the forum, so stick around.

Now, judging from your username, I just have to ask...when does Tiger make his return? (hope he's out of rehab by Valentines day, that boys got alot of shopping to do! :lol: )

If I were to venture a guess, I would say he will probably come back for the Masters, or maybe one event before to try to calm the media storm that will hit in his first tournament back. I think he may get on Oprah first though to try to clear the air a bit. I can't see him missing a major at this point in his career. It will be interesting to see though.

Golf..Metallica fan? I see you have a few KH guitars. What pups are in those? I picked up a used Skully for 300 bucks as a guitar good for metal and to keep tuned to D. It is a really good guitar for the coin. Last night Metallica was on MTV Live. A concert in Europe, maybe Germany? KH had the Mummy out as well as a LP black. Hetfield played an amberish Explorer type guitar, different headstock though. Any ideas on what axe that was?

That's his Ken Lawrence Explorer, he has a few of them. You can have one custom made for just 8-10 grand. They are amazing guitars though. My guitars have emg 81/60 combo. My Jackson has passives. I'm thinking about saving up for a Black LP Custom myself. I just love the guitar, I used to have a white LP Custom, but I sold it to help pay for the Ouija. Yeah, I'm a bit of a Metallica fan.
