I wish that I could find the thread that had a picture of the MEISA ENGINEERING amp. I did serveral seaches, but cannot find the photo. I know that I saw a photo of one of these amps posted on the Boogie Board. I seem to remember someone seeing it in their local music store and taking some photos of it. It was a short chassis w/o EQ, and the rear panel look was identical to this one on Ebay.

OOPS! I had an incorrect spelling. But this is the amp that I was thinking about. Not an exact replica of the Ebay amp, BUT the pull knobs are reversed from a true MarkI. Bright is on the Vol 2 knob on every MkI that I have seen. (that has the pull functions).

It almost looks like a Fender chassis with Mesa preamp and power boards to me. The pots look like Radio Shack Alpha. The caps and resistors look like what Mesa used in the mid 1980's, not the 70's. Also, it looks like a combo that was cut down to 1/3. My guess is that it's a Mike B. one off.
I have the pictures of that Mesia preamp and it looks nothing like this one.
In comparison, the Mesia is a mess. There is crap all over. :D
The Mesia chassis was also black.

Do you guys remember that C+ with the FX-80 compressor built in where the heat sink was ? It had a rear panel that was made by the same company that made the Mesa face plates, so a knock off would be possible. This thing is just very strange, yet it has a bit of intrigue.

I remember the "Mesia" also, an obvious Jap knockoff. This one must have started out as something else (the gray painted chassis with silkscreen'd labels on the rear. I agree with Ed, looks like it may have started life as a combo of sorts. Hell I've cloned a couple Boogie's myself but have NEVER tried to pass anything off as the real McCoy. But who know's; $700. smackers is a bit much to find out.
