ok so i have a single rectifier solo head and have had it for about 3 months. Bought it used and it has j&j 6L6 tubes. I am a lead guitarist in a band and i need a lower mid sound. If possible is there another tube choice that i should go with or are 6L6 good for what i need?

Also i have a marshall 1960A cab and i need a low mid sound.....ive been told the 1960A has a warmer sound, and i need a more crisp sound.

any suggestions on anything?

I quit playing Rectos for the same reason-I tried e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! I gave up on 'em. They are great for rhythm, thats it, IMO.

The Marshall 1960A cab has a tendancy to be a bit dark normally. Try a recto cab. The mids are punchier....and the cab is just plain louder at that. MIght be what you are looking for.

Go for an Orange amp. They've got that low-mid thing going on that boogies don't really do
