Just got my three channel Dual Rectifier! It was used, but in pretty good condition. I got it for 900 dollars with the footswitch and from a local guitarist that I am a huge fan of. I found the amp off of Craigslist and didn't even realize that who I was talking to was one of my favorite guitarists until he showed me his new band. Bonus points :)

It was advertised as "great condition" but I would have called it more so "good". A couple of scuffs, but outside wise it looks fine and the front looks great. No real tolex rips, and the Chrome looks sweet. And hey, it sounds great which is all that matters.

However I noticed there was a bit of rust on the transformers (not covering the entirety of them). I had read that rust is actually good for them, but I would like to repaint them for aesthetics sake. So was I wrong in hearing about impact of the rust, and if not how should I paint over them (please be specific if you can)?

Pics tomorrow as I am too tired right now. I can't wait to crank the hell out of it tomorrow again.

I would not worry about the rust. It's not hurting anything. I can't imagine why it would be 'good' for it, but it's certainly not bad for it. It just means it's been in a humid environment for a fair amount of time.

This is the article I read- http://www.mercurymagnetics.com/pages/news/VGmag/VGAug09Hamernik.pdf

I'm not saying people with non-rusted trannies have a worse tone, I'm just hoping it makes no difference.
