NAD Mesa Boogie IIc - A few questions!

Hi all
I just wanted to show my new amp.. I had a IIb years ago and found this tidy complete with cover and original footswitch (what I presume to be a ) IIc to scratch that itch!
It's a 60w version. I hadn't seen one in black with basketweave though. Looks nice IMHO. Any thoughts would be cool! According to the serial number it is a IIc but I'm no expert.

The reverb seems quite subtle (or the signal going to it as if you rattle it, it is loud coming back but the guitar signal going to it is not that loud). Ok, but not loud. Is this typical?

Your amp is actually a Mark llC+, which is a good thing, it's a very nice amp.

Thanks. I think it must be an upgrade (if it is a C+) then as the serial number is a IIC.
Still need more reverb!!!

Try putting in a new tube in V5, the one next to the power tubes.
It would be an upgraded amp which is the same thing as a factory C+. A whole new set of tubes would make this beast a lot better if they haven't been changed in a while.

Actually V5 is the PI, V3 and V4 control the Reverb circuit in the IIC+, so try changing those (I still warn you, depending on your Reverb requirements, this may or may not work for you).

I'll pull the head out and check the valves. I already noticed that V5 (the one next to the power valves) was a Mullard 12AT7. Seems like it should be a 12ax7, no?
I may just order a new set of preamp valves anyway. Are there any specific valves that people prefer in these? I noticed that the lead channel was a touch microphonic when up loud.

Yes, it is.

The reverb may need the 1-wire mod. It is a wire soldered across the ground leads of the reverb cables.

Depends on your location. If USA there's plenty.
If Euro (and other parts of the world) I'm not so sure how easily tubes can be had....

I use mesa's 12ax7 and like them. You could go with TubeAmpDoctors as well. V1 is the most important. V2 & V3 is very important if you play metal.
