I have wanted one of these and was never able to afford one before. Life is good. :)

Congrats on the new amp. I remember my first Recto- an '01 Triple.

I've been hooked ever since.

Do you have a manual? If not go download one from mesaboogie.com

It will explain all the features of the amp.

Any idea how to go about dating an amp?

Flowers, nice dinner, then a movie.
Most respectable amps won't go off standby on a first date unless you spring for steak and lobster. :p

****, beat me to it.

If you pull the chassis there will be hand written dates of final assemblies.

Or we can guess from the serial #.

Older or newer DR? I prefer the very early ones or the Multi-Watt. I think my favorites however are the Rectoverb and Tremoverb. BFG DR is the best though! BFG Amplification and mods.

Well my dual rec's serial is R-0216xx and was made on May 29 of 2001. You can pull the chassis out, but i couldn't find the written date so i emailed mesa and they told me.
