Got my first ever Mesa after spending 20 Years mostly with Marshalls, and I'm blown away! The high-gain modern sounds are fun, but there's so much more to this amp, it covers everything I would ever need and more. The only issue is deciding which modes to use, as they all sound so good - I'm converted :)

Oh, and has anyone got a pic of a dual rec sitting on a widebody 1x12 cab?

Not sure you will find any pictures of that, the wide body cabinets are the same width as the current Mark Series amps which are 22 1/2 inches wide.
DR heads measure about 25 1/2 inches. That would look a bit odd. Only 1x12 cab that would fit properly under the head would be the RA27 1x12. You would be better off with one of the 2x12 for a bit more depth as well as match for the power rating of the amp. A single MC90 may not handle the full 100W.

Undoubtedly go with a recto 212 horizontal. You can even install large rubber feet on one of the sides for vertical usage. ("E" side of the logo down so that the left side ("M") will be up off the ground more, since that's the side I always mic up for recording).

Ran vertically the recto-head's rubber feet actually nicely straddle the cab's upside. Just fold up a black towel or sweats or something to place under head and it makes it about slide-proof and also to dampen any vibrations.
Works great, but still sounds deeper and warmer ran horizontally, but the mic doesn't know that anyways.
