Well, after trading off my Mark V and playing EVH gear for about 18 months.. I picked up a Mesa Mark IVa (serial 1493) - I've owned a IIC+, III, and 2 V's - but this is my first IV - sounds like it's going to need some new tubes.. the preamp tubes in here look stock - and I don't have much history on it, though waiting to hear back from boogie on if it's ever been serviced... worst case, i'm going to send it off for a cap job (i got some scratchy, sound breakup on my output level) but outside of that, i think we'll be friends.. at least until another **** Mark V tempts me...

Nice gear.

Why did you trade the V initially?

I got caught up in a temporary infatuation with 5150 III gear... Dig the amp a lot, but after a year found myself really missing the Mark V, originally I only picked up the IV because I found someone who'd trade me a V for a IV, then the next day he flaked, and now I have a Mark IV.
