Hello folks this is my first post in the forum but I have been reading here for a few years.
:?: Sometimes when I when I turn on my TriAxis it will appear to be OK but when I plug in the guitar all of the FX Loop lights will come on and neither the RHY, LD1 or LD2 lights will be on - there will be no sound or very faint sound. It will usually correct it self when I turn the unit off and back on. It this a known symptom or a sign of worst things to come?

i would call mesa, not much else you can do on the triaxis besides swap tubes.

Hmmmm...are you using a Power Conditioner/Regulator? Transients can make their way through your rig and cause these types of issues if you are not using "clean" power.

I am using a Furman PL-Plus - Series II. My rig is set up so that the power switch on the TriAxis is always on and the AC is applied to the preamp when I hit the switch on the Furman.
I live in North Nevada and this environment does make for a lot of static electricity. I get shocked from just touching many different things in my apartment and in stores around town.
Maybe the static electricity has something to do with it.
I'll be calling Mesa when they get back from their holiday break.

Seems to be problem with cords
replace all cords between Triaxis, fx, poweramp, cab and guitar
The moment you plug in your guitar the problems starts.
Try another type of guitar cord, are you using a shielded chord, try a unshielded cord.
The two positions power switch on the back switched the in right way?(ground)
Disconnect the whole rack and plug the Triaxis directly into the wall socket, turn it on and than plug your guitar into the Triaxis.
If it runs ok than reconnect your power amp and your cab and so on untill the problem appear.

Read the manual of the triaxis for the recommended type of cords
Good luck

I will try the things you suggest. (This is a random problem - it doesn't happen all the time.)

This is probably due to capacitive effect of the cord(s)
Voltage accumulate in the cords and can cause problems in your rack.
Sometimes the accumulated voltage will not raise that high and the problem will not appear
A defective cord can give problems due to vibrations or motion.
Also important:
Don't use cables in your rack with tooooo much overlength
Avoid powercords next to signalcords
Make sure grounding is all the way thru your rack gear
Always use a grounded wallsocket to plug in your rack
