Do you have all of those effects running between the guitar and the amp? If so, I'll just say this, "They designed an effects loop for a reason." And what do you get your main distortion sound from? I only ask because you have 3 different types of distortion pedals and the single rectifier has a really good over drive to begin with.

I have not used the effects loop very extensively yet, pretty much because ive had alot of cables go bad and so i cant get everything in the loop until i solder some more back together. I have used my Rolls Dual EQ15 Rackmount EQ in the efx loop, ive found i can really tighten up the sound by tweaking it a little.

I am not using the Metal Zone, nor the Super Distortion as my sources of Overdrive. Those were pretty much left over from my days of using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 1x12. So i used to use them to get the Mesa and Marshall sound i REALLY wanted. I only use the Super Distortion sometimes because it is also a "Feedbacker" pedal and so i can sustain a note infinetly and make it sound like it is feedbacking. But yeah, the Mesa's Modern Gain is what i use over anything else.

Im thinking of probably selling or trading those 2 pedals for a H2O Chorus/Echo or a EHX Holy Grail Reverb.

Congrads again on your rig. To all the people here that dont know me and UK have been talking about gettting a rectifier amp for almost a year on and off a different forum www.zentao.com (good site for lessons, theory, and talk about all types of gear. Go to jam session and check it out interesting finds and memebers with all sorts of knowledge and check out the theroy section) I am so happy to see you got what you wanted. I myself have a nomad 55 and just got my dual rect and mesa 4x12 traditonal size cab about 2 months ago. I will never sell my rig NEVER. This site is by far the coolest Mesa Boogie forum i have ever been to and i plan on staying around. :D

don't solder your cables back together, go buy some good cables! you have a good amp, but bad cables will destroy your sound. That telephone cable you have running from your guitar to your amp, is horrid to see. Invest in some good cables it makes all the difference in the world. I prefer monster cables, they eliminate alot of interference, and noise from any system. Even if you don't think you have a noisy system you will be amazed!! Sorry to sound harsh, but I hate seeing a great rig, with crappy cables. Cabling is just as important as anything else in your rig!!!

OK I will get off my soap box now.

Good call Macaddict! I was going to say something about the phone handset cord, but bit my lip. Ukalali_Solo, It's only to help, and not to pick on ya. I've been corrected a few times already, and rightly so. A good cable will sound better, last longer, and it will lay flat so you won't get hung up in it as easy if you're playing a gig. By the way, welcome to the forum and hello. :D

no i know, im just a stranger to habit. And of late alot of my good cables have been crapping out so ive been substituting them for others. I am going to invest in some good cables soon though

I got 2 of those crummy phone cords for my mark III footswitches... They cut alot of highs out of the guitar signal...
I do however use a "bullet" coil cable, which is a really cool cable, and sounds great. I do like fatso-flex also.
ax.

WOW! Is that a Navigator SUV????

:D

Haha, no thats a Honda Pilot, one badass SUV if u ask me. My parents live by Honda, which is why they got me a civic (even tho i coulda spent the same money on a 'stang, but hey)

I hate to but i have to agree that good cables does make somewhat of a difference in sound. I have never had a problem of buzz or noise since i switched to planet waves and monster cables.

Social,

Cool gear. I agree good cables are a necessity! Monsters are great! As for the pedals, EH makes great stuff, but have you considered getting a G-Major? If you like all those trippy sounds, that would be a great complement to your rig, I tried a bunch of pedals for Delay (DD3) and Reverb (EH grail) and phasers...etc, but after pluggin in the Gmajor I brought them all back!

It was a ***** to set-up, but now I'm super happy! I posted a clip here...G-Major Clip.

Post some stuff when you can!
