Hey guys i just bought a the Cad Trion 7000 and D189 and miked up my RoadkingII.
Its the first time I ever have used a ribbon mic, and im lovin it.

I usually use a audio technica condenser with an sm57. But not this time check it out:

Sounds f*cking good! How much was that ribbon mic? I've been using an Audio-Technica AT3035 LDC and an SM57 with decent results. Which AT do you have? Also, what micpre are you using?

here is the ribbon mic:

I usually use a sm57 a mic the other cab and blend, but on this one i used a cad d189 dynamic and mixed them. Im using a presonus firepod for my mic preamp.

I had a triple rec and a single rec, the key for me to get a ballsy sound was to find the right boost pedal. Then after i found the right pedal, i figured out to run the gain on the amp a little lower, then boost it. The Roadking seems to be a little darker of a sounding amp. This clip was recorded with regular boogie tubes, i have jj's in the preamp and the power section now.

what pedal did you use for boost? the Fulltone? I've tried the boost pedal thing with a SD-1 and a Seymour Duncan pickup booster, but with no luck.
