My Mesa Dual Rect Solo Head -

Shouldn't I be able to get the EXACT same sound from CHANNEL 2 - Modern High Gain as CHANNEL 3 - Modern High Gain?

I love my knob settings for CHANNEL 3 -Modern High Gain,...... but can't match that sound on CHANNEL 2-Modern High Gain ??

My goal is to MATCH the sound of each CHANNEL and than use the other to switch to LEADS at higher GAIN setting.

Thanks for your help-

Change out the Presence pot in your Channel 2. I was the opposite. I hated Channel 3. But its all the same to change it out like it says you can do in the manual. I wrote a How-To on how to do it. Def. worth the time to do. Good luck.

Nope in the manual it describes how channel 2 is really suited to vintage and 3 for modern and that they aren't the same exact channel. But like fluff mentioned and it's mentioned in the manual you change out the presence knob on one channel. The ranges in the presence knobs are different stock.

I like the difference. I live on channel 2, but when we play in a dark muddy sounding stage I like that I can hit channel 3 and have a more cutting sound. It's and easy change out though.
