Hi my 1 X 12 Maverick seems to have lost it's mesa tone it just sounds dull and lifeless iv'e subbed tubes and tweeked away but it just lacks what it normally has great tone.

Any ideas? what I could start to check to try and sort it please.

Thanks

If you have changed your preamp and powertubes and there is not a noticable change in tone then it could be a faulty component in the amp. How old is the amp, it could be time for new filter caps.

Hopefully Monsta-tone will chime in.

Thanks for the replies

Iv'e only checked the output valves which are fairly new. I did a full re-valve less than 12 months from Watford valves here in the UK.

I did hard wire the plastic connectors a while a go after it was giving intermitent noise due to a bad joint it has been perfect since then I have since rechecked it and everything is sound.

It just happened from switching off one day to turning on the next not a gradual thing at all.

All my Guitars and cables are perfect working order.

Cheers

Ok replaced filter caps and clean channel ok however on lead channel whenever I play or just touch the jack tip relay 3 s chattering and buzzing it' nuts off but the sound is there.

I have checked voltages from the schematic and they are ok all resistors check out ok around the relay to and from.

Can anyone sugest some checks or can the relays go bad ?

Thanks
