My F50 is an original model = non badged and different handle to the later badged models.

The later models had the Mesa/Boogie long badge, I didn't like the look of my F50 with no badge because it looks bare, I could not put a Mesa/Boogie badge on there because the original non badged models have only got a short piece of wood inside the grill so nothing to screw the right screw into. I much prefer Boogie, to Mesa/Boogie anyway and because its shorter there is enough wood to screw it into.
I looked on ebay for about a year and eventually got a Boogie badge.

My Express 5.50, and F50.

Both amps have now got a Black Shadow EVM12L, replacing the lame C90's.

do you like the black shadow with your 5:50? I am gonna replace the stock speakers in both my 25 and 50. Everyone says it really makes them come alive.

Hi, they are all Mesa black Shadow, I didn't like the Mesa black Shadow C90, sounded good in the F50 but not in the 5.50.
I replaced both with Mesa Black shadow EVM12L, they are just so much more of a serious speaker, the c90's fall apart with hard hit bass notes, they flap.

The EV's are big and rated at 200 watts, the C90 are rated at 90 watts, one EV weighs about 3 C90's, lol.

The Mesh is a problem, you have to make it smaller to fit on because the speaker is much bigger and it just stops on the back of the magnet and won't go on if you don't modify it.
The transformer is in a stupid place on the F50 which is why we accidently put a screw through the outer part of the cone when trying to squeeze it in and past the transformer and onto the screws, my dad repaired the cone with RTV.
The 5.50 was easier, the mesh isn't as big and the transformer isn't in the way as much.

Its difficult to fit the reverb tanks back in though because the speaker has got a massive cage.
Also don't expected the little screws to be any good with the EV, they are too short, you need longer fatter screws for the EVM12L's.
