Mk1 Tubes replacments

Can I put Sovtek 6550WE tubes in my mk1

It currently has two 6L6GC in it?

Does anybody know where I can find some infor on what tubes are suitable?

I would not attempt it. I dabble in guitar tube amp repair and by no means an expert like Monst-tone or BoogieBabies (they're the real experts in Boogies as well as some other on the board) but MESA's are fixed bias so the bias is not set for 6550 tubes so you may blow few components like the cathode resistor or an output transformer or other components.

Then again, I'm not an expert ...
Do you still want to experiment in changing power stage tubes? :shock:
