Anyone else bothered with the fan noise for close miked recording ?

Do any users go for the silent recording DI ?

My thoughts would be to unplug it. Shouldn't be a problem for a few hours, should it ?

Does the fan get noisier with time, bearings wear out etc ?
Worth replacing or not ?

Unplug . it's not like your running it full out for 4 hours . I was considering putting an inline switch on mine , but never got around to it .

Also heard of putting a 220 volt fan in to get quieter operation , that might be an option . If you are hearing any mechanical noises from the fan , swap it out .

When I moved my mark III from the combo to the headshell I left the fan in the combo. no problems at all....
