I used to own a MkIII simulclass with EV12L, best amp I have ever played or heard. If circumstances then were as now, I would have been able to keep it, however that's a different story.
What I'm asking is, I am looking for the same amp again, mainly for the clean channel, is this wise or are there even better Boogies now ? I don't want a MK IV, too many bells and whistles for just a clean sound.

Well, if you just want a really nice clean channel you could just buy a Blue Angel. That'd be a bit cheaper than a Mark III, if you want everything else that comes with the Mark III and you feel it's the right decision, then it is.

You might want to check out the Mesa Lone Star series. It´s a 2ch amp with excellent clean sounds and a more vintage voiced lead channel.
