drew thats great to hear..what i also like is that you just have to pull the gain up and drop the mid's and you have petruuci tone's..the level of tweaking in this amp is really quite small.

It's awesome..

Pull the Treble and Master 1 knobs, EQ out, Gibson LP with medium output pckups, through a pair of EV thiele cabs. Adjust guitar volume and tone knobs to fine tune the gain/brightness. :D It works for both the lead and rhythm channels, class-A or simul.

Drew: My outer socket tubes are STR-416 6CA7 Sylvanias. I think the STR-442/ Winged=C= sounds a LOT better than the STR-447 Sovtek in the simul C+.

Drew

Mesa str 415's with JJ 6L6's in the middle.. both are REALLY GOOD TUBES.. the Pre's are a mix of mullard reiusse, tungstrum and JJ.. the sound is perfect!

Joey- that is amazing how close our settings are!!really close..

You'll need a place to get VERY loud with this one. Lead channel only, great for single note soloing!

Pull the Treble, Master1, and Lead Master knobs, EQ Auto. Same guitar and speaker cabs.

thx for these Shep !!! did you try these settings in you're mark iv ?

no, i haven't but if i wanted the tone i had with my c + using my mk iv i would set it like that. I pretty much can get anything out of a mk iv. I have been using it for so long i am pretty good about how it works.tube's play a big hand how easy it is to dial the it in.

thx again Shep !!! what are you're current settings on you're mark iv ?

this is my current setting's.. which is for a nice clean, dirty tight rhy 2 and a full on lead channel..

rhy1 gain 7.5 pull
rhy1 treb 6
mid 7
bass 3
rhy1pres 5
rhy 2 treb 8
rhy2 gain 8 pull
rhy2 pres 4.5
lead gain 8 pull
ld treb 8
ld bass 2
ld mid 7
ld driv 8
ld pres 3.4

channel masters all at 3.5

Eq v but not to heavy..so there are still lot's of mid's float in there..

harm/pentode/simlu/tweed power into a mesa trad cab!

It sounds nice :D

Tom, is the Master Volume on the IIC+ really 0.5 ? seems too low for me when I try it.

the idea with the drive knob is that it will make you have that sweet low end gain. if you want turn your lead gain down and your drive up..i will have to go and have a play on my mk IV but it's packed away in road case's.. with the c+ volume. it may have been alittle higher.. it's just master volume..
