I know there are some real boogie experts out there. maybe someone can help.
I realized that the logo on my Mk IIB from 81 is not original. What i saw on many pictures is, that the old logos dont have this grey kind of shade under the white letters. mine looks like that, and is probably newer:

So maybe the shell is also not original, can someone detect that by the look of the tolex or something else?

thanks for helping

Tolex looks old style. Boogie logos are all over the place, so it's hard to tell.
Tolex is easily re-done, and the logo can be changed out as well.
It shouldn't be a big deal.

Te shadowed logo ie white letter with light grey shadow were classic mark I.
They were "stensilled" ie painted, maybe screen printed is a better word..
The later ones looked more "etched" with a silver appearance of the letters which are raised on a flattened and black background.
Corners are usually slightly rounded.
I totally agree with Mk III that the logo useage is not linear and uniform.
I guess like most things the logo and tolex should be viewed in context of the whole package, and if glaring anomalies exist then an explaination should be sought.

the logo isn't correct for mark IIB... the tolex could be, but it looks a bit newer... like maybe late 80's early 90's

here is what it should be:
sorry... photo bucket is messing with me... for some unknown reason, I can't copy/paste the IMG code, so here is a link

thanks for your replies. So as I understand: it could be the logo is a leftover from earlier production or also put on later... the shell seems original to me, the wood on the inside and everything else looks like I saw on photos on this forum or somewhere else ( also I had to repair a few things after the amp was treated not very kind by the transport company, so I know how the wood looks inside...)
Like you say: it shouldnt be a big deal, but I'm an amp freak, haha, I love amps and sometimes get a little too crazy about details

The amp itself is very clean and everything original and sounds great.
