Hello all,

I'm experiencing an intermittent popping sound and a power cut with my mini rectifier. I just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions about what I should do for it.

The amp will lose power and sound for a split second and the LED will go out and then everything will go back to normal. Here's a couple of quick videos I did of the issue.

Since I got the amp Mesa's sent out 2 sets of power tubes and I've switched out the pre amp tubes all to no effect. I've also used some Deoxit on the effects loop since I thought that might be the problem but it still pops and cuts out.

I bought the mini rectifier (my first tube amp) and recto 2x12 from GC last September (2012). This summer I took it to an authorized repair tech for the 10 watt fix, at mesa's suggestion, since it buzzed in the 10 watt mode and now the amp is dead quiet.

I really like the amp except for this popping/power cut issue. Any suggests would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all.

Update: So I called Mesa and they said there was a new mod for the mini rec issued in October 2013 to address my issue. Apparently, the mod had something to do with controlling the voltage coming into the amp which caused the drop out issue. I took the amp back to the tech and just got it back yesterday. Unfortunately, the amp is still cutting out and popping as demonstrated in the videos above.

I'm going to call Mesa tomorrow to see I should do next.

On another note, the tech did mention something about a mod for fixing the amp's noisy reverb. I guess he might have been talking about the new Rectoverb 25.
