I have been wandering on these forums as a guest, but now I have a question for you, modders.

I like the 4 mini rectifer modes, but the footswitch allows to use only 2 presets: clean (modes:Clean/pushed) or distorted (modes:Modern/Vintage). Would it be possible to rewire the front mode switches as two separate footswitch jacks for convenient live use?

I never saw someone on another forum who thought of this, and wondered if it would be a great idea or would just be inapropriate due to volume drop between modes in the same channel, or it would induce too much noise in the sound.

Maybe some of the recent mini owners already opened it and took photos of the inside, or even did this mod?

Hope to get news soon, cause this might affect my decision on my next amp purchase.

Regards from Quebec, Anthony

I highly doubt theres any way to do that. Having said that, I think the only thing you can do to achieve what you are trying to do is buy 2 minis, 2 cabs, and an aby footswitch. It wouldn't be cheap by any means but I think it's the only way you will be able to have all 4 modes available for live use like you want....

Sure you could. The voicing switches simply connect and disconnect circuits. Someone who is electrical savvy could rig something up for you.

There would be huge volume differences though. I don't think it would be usable live.

+1

Agreed. Any good DIY'er can replace a switch with a relay, but I doubt it would be usable live.

The volume jump between modes alone would be a b!tch to deal with, as well as sharing the EQ/Gain settings.

I would like to see a switch for the effects loop.

agreed that on channel two the volume difference would not work well. However a switch for the PUSH mode would be nice.

Yes, two amps would be the ideal, but he dont need two cabs. Its possible to run two amps in a single cab with a Radial Tonebone or something similar.

Switch for the FX loop would be cool instead of the hard bypass in the back. Probably easy to mod.

Yep, there is a volume bump between the vintage/modern mode.

Would be cool to have a switch for the pushed mode but use a Tube Screamer over the clean and you are almost there.

Can you provide us with a photo of the inside of the amp? That would help get an idea of how much space is available and the general layout.
