Anyone had any luck getting a tone similar to that of Mike's on S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (mainly the opening riff to Idiot Box) with a 2 channel DR?

I am pretty sure he used 2 channel TRs, so I don't know if it is even possible... but I would surely like to know.

Thanks in advance.

I know he used a recto but not sure what one. The main part of the tone was a Boss rackmount. dont know the model either but it had the COSM modeling stuff in it.

2 channel Rectifiers or Tremoverbs...Either will get you close.

His settings are something like:
all tone controls at 12 oclock(more or less)
gains about 1:00
modern gain setting.
silicone diodes/bold on the back.
6L6's.
master to taste.
PRS CU24

That's coming from his guitar tech. He also said his tremoverbs were modded. If you want more info on his tone, go here: http://www.incubusview.com/messboard/viewtopic.php?t=12122&highlight=

That's interesting that his tremoverbs were modded, as I recently read an old interview where he claimed he wasn't too fussy about gear, that he just played whatever, and only changed gear when he got tired of a certain type of sound.

Hmm, actually on that forum his tech says the modded tremoverbs were on the Morning View live DVD only. So, I'm guessing it was stock on Science?
