So for whatever reason I've least bounded with channel 3 on the amp. I've struggled with it over the past year and really didn't try too hard because I like the ch 3 of my roadster for high gain work. So I finally decided to crack this nut. I started reviewing the mark v tone settings thread and noticed one of the postings had ch 3 mids at 3:00  .So I gave that a try and there was the tone I was looking for. I always ran my mids very low. I reviewed the manual again regarding the mids and they behave much different then the triaxis or roadster. On the roadster 9:00 is basically neutral mids, anything above 12 per the manual is to make up for the room or other factors as such. I still prefer to scoop the mids in the eq, but the boosted channel mids seem to add some nice growl. So just curious, what do you guys run your mids on ch3 for high gain riffage work?

I discovered the same thing you are talking about. My mids are at 2:30, presence at 2:30, treble and bass at 10:30...graphic eq, 80hz at the middle, 240HZ halfway down from the center line, 750HZ right at the middle, 2200HZ slightly above centerline, and 6600HZ right at centerline. i use that for riffs and solos, MV4 mode, gain about 3:00, i also freaked out how full the MKV sounded...used a Mesa 4 x 10 open back and also a 1 x 12 closed back, the tone was just sssooo thick and round, it was great to my ears. Tried the same settings on my MK3 combo graphic eq, it seems lowering 240HZ gets a better balance, gets you a more rounded and thick sound. After all, most of the "mud" are around 200-400HZ....yup...keep the mids up....!

I run my mids on ch3 mark 4 setting @ 11:30 to 12:00. I use the eq to scoop out mids. This way, I can cancel the eq scoop using the foot controller and get a nice lead sound.

Not really part of the Mark V clan but I have my mids on the TriAxis on 5 with DV on 7.5 for a rhythm tone, and 4.5 with DV on 7.0 for a lead tone and while that is scooped, this phrase

it's more the way the sound feels.....more like a 'mid-presence'.

is a very nice explanation of why you should take out the mids with the GEQ.
